Cultural Competency

Cultural Competency values the unique characteristics of diverse populations and ensures quality health care that is both respectful and responsive.

HOP offers a range of training and consultation services addressing Cultural Competency, including:

  • Cultural Competence in Health Outreach Training – hands-on learning allowing participants to explore various cultural challenges in working with underserved populations, from language differences to traditional health beliefs.
  • Cultural Competency Assessment Tools – resources for assessing organizational and individual cultural competence.
  • Resources for Staff Orientation/In-service Training – assistance in the development of appropriate training materials to help increase cultural competency of health center staff.
  • Customized Cultural Competency Services – HOP can provide customized training and consultation services to address the specific cultural competency needs of your organization.
